What is Jelly?

Jelly Liverpool is a community of diversely skilled co-workers that meet-up in relaxed and friendly sponsor venues across Liverpool city-centre for a weekly co-working event.  We enjoy the company of like-minded people and thrive in an environment that fosters growth of all attendees.  Knowledge sharing and social chit-chat is encouraged – but it can also be a surprisingly good environment for deep focus work.

More than just a pop-up office! 

With Jelly Liverpool, you can escape your normal working environment, be that the spare room, rented desk-space or usual café and join what has become “The” co-working event. One that enables people to make new contacts in an informal way whilst still allowing them to work on their deadlines and maintain productivity.  You can pop in for an hour or two or come and work for the full day, there are no expectations.

Where did it start?

Jelly started in NYC in February of 2006 when room-mates Amit and Luke realized that they loved working from home, but they missed the creative brainstorming, sharing, and camaraderie of a traditional office.

So, they started inviting friends to come work from their home one day a week.  They soon found that working in close proximity to new and interesting people every fortnight resulted in new ideas and interesting conversations.  Emboldened by their early success, they made it a more regular thing.  Jelly was born.

While the original global Jelly wiki and UK directories have moved offline, Jelly Liverpool remains proudly active. The grassroots movement proved that remote workers crave community, effectively sparking the modern global coworking industry.

Today, we keep the original, pure spirit of casual, free popup coworking alive right here across Merseyside.

Neil Morrin

Neil is the driving force behind Defnet Media, providing digital support to charities and the creative industrites across the North West. As one of the founders of the Liverpool group, Neil may have been to more Jelly co-working events than anyone else on the planet.

Jelly Liverpool provides chairs, tables, wireless internet, somewhere to get a coffee, but more importantly interesting people to talk to, collaborate with, and bounce ideas off.  All of this and amazingly it’s all free!

What do I need to bring?

Just your own laptop, or whatever you need to get your work done, a friendly disposition and a smile.
